I always look forward to playing this last show of the year. It’s nice and loose and has become an annual gathering of friends in a great boozer with a rich rock n roll history.
Bob Dylan played his first-ever UK performance at The Water Rats (then known as The Pindar of Wakefield) in December 1962. The Pogues (then Pogue Mahone …I designed their badges) – played their first-ever performance here in October 1982. Oasis performed their debut London show here in January 1994. TMTCH played some of our first gigs here too.
And it’s been home to my end of year show with a bunch of musical friends for several years now – and this one will be just as memorable and special.
